Jay studied graphic design, back in the eighties when it was a rock and roll job. Today, her business card says MD. What it doesn’t mention is all the other hats she wears at Milestone. Like HR, IT and Finance.
In her spare time, art-lover Jay can often be found at one of the Tates, the RA or other favourite galleries. That’s if she’s not getting down to some hard rock, gangsta rap or techno punk.
After studying marketing and psychology at Stirling University Ian explored both creative and account management roles in agencies. But it wasn’t long before he started making plans to form Milestone.
Ian has pioneered Milestone’s development into brand consultancy and has overseen many of Milestone’s corporate rebranding projects. He loves developing close and lasting relationships with his clients. (He even married one!)
Peter spent his formative years designing award winning packaging and websites for the toy industry. He’s a lover of big toys himself, including fast cars and motorcycles. Almost lost to a New York agency, the offer of creative supremo at Milestone saw him jetting back to manage our creative team.
Very much a hands on designer he still finds time to play the drums when people let him.
With her lifelong passion for clever design and fonts, Jeni’s natural home is a creative agency. Highly organised with a commitment to client satisfaction, Jeni manages the Milestone account team. Her calm and focused approach to complex projects is second only to her stationery addiction. Rather than chocolate, Jeni craves Prodir pens.
With solid automotive experience in B2B sales and marketing, she’s often found van-spotting from the M40 flyover.
Client Services Director
A marketing graduate from Plymouth University, Howard went straight into advertising in the days when smoking and drinking at your desk weren’t just allowed, they were actively encouraged.
Howard has worked as an underwater cameraman, a dive shop manager, a chicken breast stuffer and a costumed pig along with 20 years in more traditional marketing roles in the finance, retail, leisure, IT and tourism sectors.
Digital Creative Director
Matt loves working on large campaigns and product launches with a wide brief, allowing him to really stretch his creativity.
With videos, animations and a stack of responsive websites under his belt, he knows how to get the best out of digital technologies.
At the weekends you’ll either find Matt supporting Chelsea or spinning some old school Hip Hop tunes.
Originally from Winnipeg Canada, Alicia was a partner in an art gallery before she relocated to the UK. She ran the studio for the Chartered Institute of Marketing before joining Milestone.
She still enjoys drawing and watercolour painting and has sold her work across Canada. Loves travelling, kayaking, yoga and a decent cheese board.
Rosanne is a lover of organisation, lists and a stickler for detail with a background in professional services marketing and consumer brand management.
She’s outnumbered at home by three kids and a cat. When not running around after them she enjoys walking, cycling and a good sing song with a local choir, Accidental Harmonies followed by a glass of wine or two.
Hoi joins us with a Marketing degree from Lancaster University, and over 8 years experience working in full service marketing agencies for clients including BMW/Mini, Sainsbury’s and BMI Healthcare.
Despite a fear of flying, Hoi regularly challenges herself to travel to far flung destinations like Japan and Thailand. However, you’ll more often find her indulging in retail therapy at the Westfield shopping centre.
Kathryn came to Milestone from Heston Blumenthal’s Fat Duck Group, where she developed her social media expertise – essential skills she brings to our digital team.
She project manages many of our web projects, carefully coordinating the creative, coding and content. Kathryn’s passionate about food, some of which she grows on her allotment.
Simon joined us after time spent working client side at Smarter Not Harder and The CIM. With a Marketing degree and a CAM Award under his belt, Simon brings plenty of fresh ideas to the Milestone fold.
Since bungee jumping in Thailand he’s been scared of heights and now prefers to keep both feet on the ground. Magic FM is his guilty pleasure. These two things are not connected. Or are they?
Previous to joining our Account Management team, Annie has spent nine years working in some of London’s leading integrated agencies. Annie has managed campaigns for the likes of Nokia, Douwe Egberts, Pepsi, Tesco and the NSPCC.
A lover of good stationery, fresh flowers, interior design and mountain air, her free time has more recently been spent figuring out how to be a parent to her toddler.
Rebecca joined Milestone armed with a Business and Marketing degree from UWE Bristol and three years marketing experience, both client and agency side. In her previous role, she handled such brands as HSBC, Sony Mobile, Aviva, Velux and Fitness First.
Outside the barn, Rebecca starts the day with yoga and fills her weekends throwing tyres at bootcamp. Or herself out of a plane. Or a boat.
Becky joins Milestone with over 10 years agency automotive and drinks experience working with alcohol brands from the Pernod Ricard estate and automotive leaders BMW/MINI.
Her new-found love for barre is less about drinking establishments and more about the combination of yoga, Pilates and ballet. That’s not to say that Becky isn’t partial to a glass of prosecco once in a while.
Katie joined us fresh from school with A-levels in Art and Media, keen to soak up everything about the creative industry. After mastering the art of running our office for eighteen months she joined our Account Management team and is loving the new role.
Katie enjoys taking her dog Pugsy on long walks and is an adrenaline junkie, hoping to skydive later this year. Pugsy has no such desire and will stay firmly on the ground.
Before she arrived at Milestone, Jenni was a National Accounts Sales Administrator at Seiko. And before that, she landed a BSc in Business Management from Swansea University.
When given the opportunity, Jenni loves to travel. She spent her last three birthdays in Amsterdam, Dublin and Indonesia respectively, and is open for suggestions on where to spend her next one.
Having joined Milestone as an Account Manager, Lisa eventually made the transition across from managing client projects to managing our increasingly busy studio.
With a keen interest in fashion, music and popular culture, Lisa expresses her creative flair through her dress sense and interior design in her home (with a burgeoning Pinterest addiction to show for it). She also enjoys karaoke, travel, cooking, paddle boarding, and taking her beloved greyhound on trips to the coast.
A born and bred Aussie, Minella joins Milestone with a Business degree and over a decade’s experience working with creatives in the film and TV industry. She has also organised private art events at prestigious venues across London, from the Saatchi Gallery to the Tower of London.
When not keeping Milestone shipshape, Minella can be found open water swimming in the Thames at daybreak, with swans and Canada geese for company.
Social Media Consultant
Rachel joins us fresh from maternity leave, during which she completed her IDM Professional Diploma in Digital Marketing. Passionate about using social media as a marketing tool, Rachel gets a real kick out of supporting others. Previous haunts include The Chartered Institute of Marketing.
Rachel keeps active with running, yoga and chasing a toddler around. She’s equally at home with her nose in a book and a nice glass of wine in her hand.
Digital Technical Director
Paul taught himself HTML in 1994 when the phrase “Information Superhighway” was thankfully slipping out of fashion. After a few years as Dell’s Internet Development Manager, and many more freelancing, he (married the MD and) joined Milestone to oversee the technical aspects of our digital projects.
A keen writer, Paul’s books can found in garden centres and National Trust gift shops across the country, and, with the ideal amount of alcohol, can juggle fire.
Motion Graphics & Digital Designer
An experienced video editor and animator in addition to his extensive digital design knowledge, Mike graduated with 1st Class BA (Hons) Graphic Design from the Arts University Bournemouth in 2013 and was nominated for the 2013 D&AD Student Awards.
A lover of technology, computing and physics Mike also enjoys climbing from time to time – an activity which he nevertheless remains distinctly average at. Born in Norway, he moved to the UK when he was 2, so no, he doesn’t speak any Norwegian.
Known for his sartorial elegance, Bucks New University graduate Sam has a real talent for illustration. Inspired by artists such as Oliver Jeffers and Dan Matutina, he is equally at home with icon sets, infographics or character design for engaging animatics.
If you want Oscar tips, ask Sam as he spends his free time avoiding a popcorn overdose at the cinema.
A graduate of Central St Martins, Pam worked in fashion before finding her rightful place in a design studio.
She presides over our artwork output with a fashion-like eye for detail, scrutinising everything from packaging, point of sale and print to websites and e-marketing campaigns.
Russ is equally at home with a 32 page brochure, 90 page website or set of 40 icons.
While at Milestone, he’s also been talked into doing a bit of modelling as an RAC Patrol employee. As a lover of vintage VWs he knows lots about hanging out by the roadside.
Richard’s claim to fame was being 6th in British mountain biking. He’s a connoisseur of Japanese Beer, although his dog is called Guinness.
He also failed in a Guinness World Record attempt to eat 9 Jacobs crackers in 50 seconds. Was once on prime time TV (with an agent and a dressing room and everything!)
With 20 years’ marketing experience, Lucas has graced advertising, design and research agencies, gone freelance, and then met us. Along the way he’s created copy for businesses large and small, across many industries.
Off the keyboard, he’s often on the river, either rowing down the Henley Regatta course, working on his latest novel, or enjoying the view from the pub.
